Biographies
Dr Catherine Yelland
Catherine Yelland is a consultant geriatrician at Royal Brisbane Hospital. She graduated from the University of Queensland and has been a member since then. She is a second generation member of Queensland Medical Women's Society and mother of three children.
Dr Janet Huang
Dr Janet Huang is a consultant plastic surgeon in Brisbane. She has been a member of the Executive Committee of Queensland Medical Women’s Society as well as the council of the Australian Federation of Medical Women for near a decade. She enjoys the interaction with medical women both locally and interstate as well as internationally.
Supporting Women In Medicine (SWIM)
SWIM is a non-profit organisation founded in 1995 and run by medical students of the University of Queensland's School of Medicine. As a non-profit organization, SWIM aims to provide an academic and social forum to address issues of women in medicine and the community in general. Some of the areas focused on upon include equality of access to leadership and academic positions for female doctors, career management and women’s access to health care, both locally and internationally.
